Nimbbl supports multi-currency payment processing, allowing merchants to accept payments in currencies other than Indian Rupees (INR). This is essential for businesses serving international customers or operating across multiple markets.
Multi-Currency Support
When a merchant creates an order, they specify the order currency — the currency in which the price is listed. If the order currency is INR, the payment proceeds as a standard domestic transaction. If the order currency is a foreign currency (for example, USD or EUR), Nimbbl uses currency conversion to process the payment through Indian payment partners that settle in INR.
Nimbbl supports two currency conversion mechanisms:
- ACC (Alternate Currency Conversion) — automatic conversion applied when the order currency differs from the currency supported by the payment partner. The conversion is transparent to the customer.
- DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion) — gives the customer the choice to pay in a different currency, showing the converted amount and exchange rate at checkout.
Multi-currency configuration — including ACC/DCC setup, exchange rate management, and supported currency pairs — is managed through Orbit. For full details, see the Orbit Multi-Currency documentation.
