The Nimbbl product suite

Nimbbl is built as four complementary products, each focused on a specific part of the payment experience. Together they deliver a complete payments stack: a customer-facing checkout, robust payment processing, intelligent routing, and conversion optimization. Every product is designed to work independently, but they deliver the most value when used together.

This page introduces each product, explains how they interact during a payment, and helps you decide which products are right for your business. For detailed capabilities, configuration options, and technical documentation, follow the links to each product's dedicated section.

Product Overview

The following sections introduce each product's core purpose. For detailed capabilities, configuration, and technical documentation, follow the "Read more" links to each product's dedicated page.

Sonic

Sonic is the hosted one-click checkout that your customers interact with. It provides the payment experience -- guiding customers through payment mode selection, authentication flows, and outcome communication -- while keeping your integration effort minimal.

Sonic supports three integration paths (no-code, low-code, and full API), and it surfaces capabilities from the other products automatically when they are enabled. If you are looking for the fastest path to accepting payments or want a conversion-optimized checkout, start here.

Orbit

Orbit is the payment processing infrastructure. It handles the actual movement of money across payment modes (Cards, UPI, Netbanking, Wallets, EMI, Pay Later) and payment partners (Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, and others). Orbit also provides multi-currency support for international transactions and transaction operations for managing the full payment lifecycle.

Every payment processed through Nimbbl flows through Orbit, regardless of which checkout integration you use.

Pulse

Pulse is the smart routing engine that optimizes which payment partner processes each transaction. It offers rule-based routing for deterministic control (priority ordering, volume splits), dynamic routing that optimizes success rates based on real-time partner performance, and fallback and recovery mechanisms that handle partner failures automatically.

Pulse works with Orbit to choose the best processing path for each payment, improving success rates and reducing cost.

Boostr

Boostr is the conversion optimization engine. It powers three capability areas: personalisation that surfaces customer-relevant payment options, incentivisation that drives conversions through offers and targeting, and affordability that makes high-value purchases accessible through EMI and subventions.

Boostr works with Sonic to influence what customers see at checkout and with Orbit to determine which options are available.

How Products Work Together

The four products form a layered architecture where each product handles a distinct responsibility in the payment flow. Understanding this architecture helps you see how enabling a product improves a specific part of the payment experience without requiring changes to the rest of your integration.

Payment Flow

A typical payment flows through the product suite in sequence:

  1. Sonic presents the checkout and guides the customer through payment
  2. Boostr shapes what options are shown based on eligibility, offers, and affordability programs
  3. Pulse selects the optimal payment partner path based on routing rules and real-time performance data
  4. Orbit processes the payment through the selected partner and manages the transaction lifecycle

When a payment fails, the flow reverses partially: Orbit reports the failure, Pulse selects the next best partner path through its fallback and recovery mechanism, and Orbit attempts the payment again -- all while Sonic keeps the customer on the same checkout page. This auto-fallback can try up to 3 alternative partner paths per payment attempt. Across the full order, Sonic allows up to 15 payment attempts before the customer must restart checkout.

This layered architecture also means that improvements to one product benefit every merchant automatically. When Pulse adds a new routing algorithm or Boostr introduces a new personalisation signal, these improvements flow through to every checkout without any integration changes on your side.

Product Interactions

Each product communicates with the others at well-defined points:

  • Sonic and Boostr -- Boostr determines which payment options, offers, and EMI plans are eligible for the current customer and order. Sonic displays those options in the checkout UI. This interaction is what powers the personalised checkout experience.
  • Sonic and Orbit -- when the customer confirms a payment, Sonic passes the payment details to Orbit for processing. Orbit returns the transaction result, and Sonic communicates the outcome to the customer.
  • Pulse and Orbit -- Pulse evaluates routing rules and performance data to select the best payment partner. Orbit executes the payment through that partner. If the partner fails, Pulse selects the next option and Orbit retries.
  • Boostr and Orbit -- Boostr checks payment mode eligibility against Orbit's partner capabilities to ensure that only options the customer can actually complete are surfaced at checkout.

Incremental Adoption

Because each product handles a distinct layer, you can adopt products independently without reworking your existing integration. Sonic and Orbit are the foundation of every integration, providing a working checkout with broad payment coverage. Pulse and Boostr can be enabled at any time to add routing optimization and conversion features respectively. Each product you enable improves a specific dimension of the payment experience:

  • Sonic + Orbit -- a fully functional checkout with broad payment mode coverage
  • Add Pulse -- higher success rates through intelligent routing and automatic retries
  • Add Boostr -- higher conversion rates through personalised options, targeted offers, and EMI affordability

No matter which combination you choose, your integration code stays the same. Products are activated and configured through the Command Center -- you enable a product, configure its settings, and it begins working within your existing checkout flow.

Choosing the Right Products

Which products you need depends on your integration approach, business requirements, and where you are in your payments journey. The guidance below helps you identify where to start and what to add as your needs grow.

By Integration Approach

Your integration approach determines how you connect to Sonic, but every approach benefits from the full product suite behind the scenes:

  • No-code (Plug and Play) -- Payment Links, Payment Pages, and eCommerce plugins use Sonic checkout with no development required. Orbit, Pulse, and Boostr activate automatically when enabled for your account.
  • Low-code (Standard Checkout) -- client-side SDKs launch Sonic checkout from your web or mobile application. You control when and where checkout appears. All four products work together behind the SDK.
  • Full API (Custom Checkout) -- you build the payment UI yourself and call Nimbbl APIs directly. You get access to Orbit for processing, Pulse for routing, and Boostr for eligibility and offer data, but you manage the checkout experience.

For a detailed comparison of these integration approaches, see Choosing Your Integration.
