Wallets

Digital wallets (also called e-wallets) are prepaid accounts that customers load with funds and use for online payments. Wallet payments are typically faster than other redirect-based payment modes because the customer has already funded the wallet, and authentication is usually a single-step PIN or OTP verification.

How Wallet Payments Work

  1. The customer selects Wallets as the payment mode
  2. The customer chooses their wallet provider from the available list
  3. The checkout redirects the customer to the wallet provider's authentication page
  4. The customer logs in and authorizes the payment from their wallet balance
  5. The wallet provider processes the payment and the customer is redirected back to the merchant's site
  6. The payment status is communicated through webhooks or transaction enquiry

Supported Wallet Providers

Nimbbl supports multiple wallet providers, including Paytm, PhonePe, Amazon Pay, Freecharge, and others. The available wallets depend on the payment partners enabled for the merchant and the wallet providers each partner supports.

Wallet Configuration

Wallets are configured through Orbit. Merchants can enable or disable specific wallet providers and manage availability based on payment partner configurations.

Available wallets for a transaction can be retrieved using the List of Wallets API. For full details, see the List of Wallets API.
